Do I need to use anchors to install a towel rack into drywall?
I bought this kit which comes with anchors but it looks like they are just for ceramic tile. Can I just screw the screws into the drywall without anchors?

if you screw right into the drywall, the rack will come out sooner than later, use the anchors and you will be much more happier with the job
You certainly could use the anchors that came with the kit or go out and get some decorators' anchors. They are much easier to use and hold much better. Even better if you can get one end into a wall stud (don't need and anchors on that end)
You need the stronges anchors money can buy & you still may have problems..depending on how you or your family treats towel brackets..I would purchase towel racks that would reach 16"..If you fasten them into the studs..you'll have less problems in the future.
You definitely need anchors, otherwise the rack will just fall out of the wall one day when you least want it to happen.
no, it wont hold unless you hit a beam in the wall, best to use anchor bolts, try to lay it out so a least one side hits a beam in ,normal construction beam,s are 16" on center start from the nearest Conner and work out ,use a stud finder to locate the beam,s good luck
Use toggle bolts. I can't get screws to hold in drywall for a paper towel dispenser, your towel rack isn't going to last a week. Toggle bolts are available at your local hardware store and have a pretty serious weight capacity.

Either use the anchors, or screw it into a stud in your wall. If you don't it won't be long before the wet towels get the best of the towel rack and you end up with a couple of lovely holes in your walls.
