What is a good car for a male student?
What is a good car/SUV(2000-2005) for a male student? I'm looking for something good looking, good performance, and a sporty feel with good fuel economy. I've had it with Hondas. I've owned 2 in 2 years and both have failed on me with over 5000$ in repairs.

You should buy a Honda.
Hear me out: People that own Hondas are often abusive to them. They'll do all sorts of "upgrades" and drive them like rentals without even taking care of the fundamental maintenance. As a result, a lot of old Hondas will fall apart quite easily. That doesn't mean they aren't good cars though... To get a good one, you just need to find a stock one. If the owner never upgraded the stereo, upgraded the exhaust, added a cold air intake, etc. then this is a good sign that it was treated well. And when you treat a Honda well it'll treat you well by being one of the most reliable cars out there.
This can't be enough to know for sure though, so before you buy a car you should always get it checked by a mechanic for the following:
1) Will it need much maintenance anytime soon, or has it been kept up with?
2) Does it show signs of being driven too hard?
3) Has the timing belt been changed within the past year or so? If not you'll need to change it and should factor the price into your haggling (yes you should always haggle except with old ladies)
Another thing to note is that an Accord may cost a little more then and get slightly worse mileage then a Civic but they are also much more practical and much less likely to have been abused.
