I need help making a bed canopy?
I'm making a bed canopy/tent and I want to have white Xmas lights in it to sort of resemble fire flies, but I don't want big bulky wires hanging all in and around my canopy..I want it to look subtle. What kind of lights can I use or how can I make it look subtle?

Fibre optic lighting available from some lighting shops.
I would suggest "rope lighting" style Christmas lights. They are available at Menard's in different colors and many other stores. I have installed then under the toe kick in my kitchen and under the overhang on my water bed.

As a builder I have used them as "mood" lighting in a few homes. We built a shelf with a front on it all the way around the bedroom up by the ceiling.

Good Luck
There are many places to find lighting that is very small. I do a lot of wood craft making clocks, etc. Here's one website where you can get very small lights (about the size of a firefly). You can get those that run on electricity or batteries.

This is but one of many, many craft sites that probably have what you need. And the prices are good as well.

good luck
