walmart...buy something with the idea that you can return it if needed, and in the meanwhile search eBay and Martins for great deals!!!
First off my email, ww05002@yahoo.com if you want the long answer.
I live in Myrtle Beach SC and when I first moved here (14 yrs ago) and I worked as a bartender who's co-worker made the old Nike Tour. He showed me a thing or two...But the main thing was this. Buy ANYTHING...get yourself on the driving range with knock-off clubs for about 89.00 (ebay or walmart...and if after a month of hitting that range ...if you want it, then GET FITTED but with your fitted numbers AGAIN, BUY KNOCK OFFS. then after a few months sell it all and get fitted one more time and buy the real deal. Callaway has great forgiving clubs some DC 90's are good and even oversized Top-Flite are decent too. Skip the 2-iron and don't worry about the 64Deg Wedge.
before my 10th game I was in the 90's and before my 20th game I was in the 80's...I carry a 5 Hdcp and an index of 4.7 (index is more important)
Putt barefoot ...walk your line so you can feel the minor mounds...practice driving the ball barefoot...when you get your balance you'll drive about 10-20% better with spikes...and for kicks (if you have the chance) play a round with one club (no putter) just to make it fun again. (once shot 2 under and I forgot my putter...I was Pis*ed off...but smiling when I posted the score)...

True, more than 14 clubs, but I select the 14 I need depending on the course rating/index. Most likely I will leave the diver at home along with the 3 iron or 64 Deg.
Yes, I still play barefoot here and there...and I will also play Ladies, Senior, Men's, Pro Tees and alternate them for a fun round with friends. (try it, it gives you a chance to explore your other irons and approach shots)
PS, First Hole in One Buck Creek Myrtle Beach SC...
9 Months in to golfing (lucky) 141 Par 3, 9-Iron.
PSS...I play Precept LadyIQ180 Pink. I find that I get similar distance then pro-v1 with the factor of surprise.
(pink tee's to match for that intimidation factor.)
